Want to know something crazy? I had never had pecan pie until a few years back. After my first taste I realized I had been missing out all those years. I only gave it a try because it’s my husband’s absolute favorite and I trust his taste (hello, he married me lol). Sadly, looking into typical ingredients, I learned it’s filled with not great stuff, processed oils, loads of sugar, too much butter. I’m not against an occasional splurge, but I knew real ingredients could taste just as good.
This is one of my favorite desserts I’ve made. It’s even better with a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream. I also love that using unrefined sugar, no bad oils, and clean ingredients can something so amazing.
