Chicken Caesar Sandwiches

Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwiches on Garlic Bread

Jump to Recipe

If you’re looking for a dinner that’s equal parts comforting and satisfying, these Parmesan Garlic Bread Chicken Caesar Sandwiches need to be next on your menu. Crispy Parmesan-crusted chicken, creamy homemade Greek yogurt Caesar dressing, crisp romaine, and buttery garlic bread come together for a sandwich that tastes like something you’d order at a restaurant—but it’s surprisingly easy to make at home.

What I love most about this recipe is that it feels indulgent without being over the top. The homemade Caesar dressing is lightened up with Greek yogurt, the chicken is air-fried until perfectly crispy, and every sandwich packs an impressive amount of protein. It’s one of those meals that’s just as good for a busy weeknight as it is for a weekend lunch.

Why You’ll Love These Chicken Caesar Sandwiches

  • Around 40 grams of protein per sandwich
  • Crispy air fryer Parmesan chicken
  • Homemade Greek yogurt Caesar dressing
  • Toasted garlic bread takes it over the top
  • Family-friendly and ready in about 30 minutes

Ingredients

For the Chicken

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced in half lengthwise

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

½ cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Cooking spray

For the Greek Yogurt Caesar Dressing

¾ cup plain Greek yogurt

2 tablespoons light mayonnaise

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 garlic clove, finely grated

Fresh cracked black pepper

1 to 2 tablespoons milk, if needed to thin

For the Garlic Bread

4 sandwich rolls, ciabatta rolls, or burger buns

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 garlic clove, grated

1 teaspoon chopped parsley

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

For Assembly

Chopped romaine lettuce

Fresh Parmesan shavings

Extra black pepper

Key Ingredient Breakdown

Chicken Breast

Thin chicken cutlets cook quickly and stay juicy while delivering plenty of lean protein.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt creates a creamy Caesar dressing that’s lighter than traditional versions while adding even more protein.

Parmesan Cheese

Parmesan is used in the crispy coating, garlic butter, and on top of the sandwich for layers of savory flavor.

Garlic Butter

A light brush of garlic butter transforms the rolls into crispy garlic bread without making the sandwich overly heavy.

How to Make Parmesan Garlic Bread Chicken Caesar Sandwiches

Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Dredge each piece in flour, then egg, then the panko mixed with Parmesan.

Spray lightly with cooking spray and air fry at 400°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.

Meanwhile, whisk together all of the Caesar dressing ingredients until smooth.

Mix together the melted butter, garlic, parsley, and Parmesan. Brush the cut sides of the rolls and toast until golden.

Lightly toss the chopped romaine with a few spoonfuls of the Caesar dressing.

Spread additional dressing on the toasted rolls, add the crispy chicken, top with the Caesar salad and fresh Parmesan, then finish with the top half of the garlic bread.

Serve immediately while everything is warm and crispy.

Tips

  • Pound the chicken to an even thickness for the crispiest results.
  • Don’t overdress the lettuce or the sandwich can become soggy.
  • Toast the bread just before assembling for maximum crunch.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts and tastes much better than the shelf-stable variety.
  • These sandwiches are best enjoyed immediately after assembling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bake the chicken instead?

Yes! Bake at 425°F for about 18–22 minutes or until the chicken reaches 165°F internally.

Can I make the Caesar dressing ahead of time?

Absolutely. Store it in the refrigerator for up to four days.

What bread works best?

Ciabatta rolls are my favorite because they get crispy on the outside while staying soft inside, but sturdy sandwich rolls or sourdough also work well.

Can I make these lower carb?

Serve the crispy chicken over a Caesar salad or use your favorite lower-carb sandwich roll.

How do I store leftovers?

Store the chicken, dressing, and lettuce separately. Assemble fresh for the best texture.
